Ray Akey 05-Aug-2005 20:07 Utsav - I used to use the history brush method but I stopped because the layer method allows for more precise tweaking and adjusting the opacity of the layer for finer control of the result. Doesn't matter though. Sharon and you get 2 thumbs up... By the way Ray,i have an easier method for a fast blur... Just use the gaussian blur- zoom into 100 % and use the history brush tool to undo the blur on areas you dont want it on. Thats It ! (By the way, complete all you post processing on the picture save it close it and reopen it. Else the history tool will undo all lighting and exposure changes to the picture that you have may have intended.) Hopefully that will help others as much as it helped me. LOve your work, keep it up Ray. Take care... Ray Akey 22-Jul-2005 05:32 John R. - It's not all that difficult to get the soft glow. The glow itself is a gaussian blur (the amount of blur varies with image sharpness) on a copy of the image. You then add a layer mask and erase the blur from the eyes, hair and any other parts of the image that isn't skin. Also, play around with the opacity value of the blur layer so that you get a good balance between blur and actual skin texture. The worst thing in the world that you can do to skin is make it look plastic. Good luck, hope this helps you out.
